Nissan released the official pricing for the 2020 Nissan Kicks and it’s creating waves in the industry for being an affordable option in the subcompact crossover segment. Including the mandatory $1,095 destination charge for vehicles, the entry-level Kicks only amounts to under $20,000.
The model’s base model, Kicks S, has a starting price of $19,965, already including the brand’s Safety Shield 360 suite that has a variety of active safety technology. It, together with all Nissan Kicks trim levels, is getting the suite as a standard.
Also included as standard features for the car are automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot alert, and rear automatic braking. Nissan’s Rear Door Alert technology, which reminds drivers of possible items left behind as they exit the vehicle, is standard too; however, only on the premium SV and SR trims.
The new Nissan Kicks is powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four engine that makes 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a continuously variable transmission and comes with a front-wheel-drive setup.
The subcompact crossover’s SV trim has a starting price of $21,595, while the range-topping SR trim is available for $22,215.
Aside from the Nissan Safety Shield 360, buyers are also treated to a 7-inch touchscreen unit. But for the inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, consumers would have to get the SV trim.
Meanwhile, an additional $1,000 to the SR trim provides buyers with the comforts of the Nissan Kicks’ Premium Package, which includes rear-end warmers and heated seats, as well as a Bose audio system.
