Following the redesign of the Nissan Rogue, loyal Nissan customers are also eagerly waiting for the arrival of the all-new Rogue Sport. And it looks like the wait won’t be long now.
Sold as the Qashqai in markets outside the United States, the Rogue Sport remains as Nissan’s best-selling model in Europe. This goes without saying that the brand could be gearing up for impressive updates on its U.S.-bound version.
Nissan was recently spotted testing a prototype of the Qashqai, although it’s still quite early to tell whether the changes lined up for the European model will also make it to the American Rogue Sport.
However, according to reports, it doesn’t look like there are a lot of changes on the car’s exterior compared to the last time it was sighted in August. Moreover, some eagle-eyed photographers were also able to snap at the new and improved interior.
For the 2021 model year, it appears the redesigned crossover’s cabin will get larger infotainment screens and satellite navigation systems. Based on the photo, its overall interior design is also similar to its Rogue sibling, specifically with the fully digital instrument cluster and floating touchscreen.
The exterior of the new Rogue Sport also shares a few similarities with the outgoing model, but there are other details that make the new crossover standout. Some of these include slim daytime running lights, partially-split headlights, redesigned taillights, and a V-Motion grille.
The 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport will be built on the same Common Module Family platform that houses the current model. It will be equipped with electrified gasoline engines with a 48-volt mild-hybrid technology as well as a plug-in hybrid.
It’s unclear when Nissan plans to begin production of the next Rogue Sport, but it won’t likely happen until the company’s European arm launches the Qashqai next year. For now, customers can treat themselves to the equally capable 2020 variant.
