Mazda introduces a new special edition package for its CX-5 and CX-9 SUVs and 6 sedan for the 2021 model year. Called the Carbon Edition appearance package, it features an exterior with a Polymetal Grey paint job, black accents, and red leather interior.
Loyal Mazda customers, however, would know that the Polymetal Grey exterior color first made its appearance on the Mazda 3 hatchback. Now for the CX-5, CX-9, and Mazda 6, the special package will show a nice contrast with the wheels, mirrors, and the black exterior parts. The red leather upholstery will also give it a different appeal, along with the red stitching and black trim with a honeycomb pattern.
Other than these basic styling details, Mazda has not made other information available yet. But the Japanese automaker is expected to release more updates within the next few months just before the vehicles’ debut for the coming model year.
It’s also unclear which trim levels the new appearance package will be offered on, but Mazda said it will be available with standard features that include smartphone-mirroring functions and heated seats.
The Carbon Edition models are likely going to charge customers a bit more than usual with prices set for a reveal sometime later.
