On the day Ford officially introduced the new F-150, Ram announced it is also gearing up for the reveal of the new TRX truck this summer.
The automaker casually shared on Twitter that its off-road performance truck is set to arrive in the next few months. The teaser does not reveal much about the upcoming vehicle, but there’s no mistaking the V8 engine heard in the background.
The new TRX will be Ram’s representative in the off-roading segment, competing against other titans led by the Ford F-150 Raptor.
Ram first revealed the Rebel TRX concept in 2018, a cutting-edge model powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 575 horsepower. But according to the latest rumors, the model debuting this summer could have no less than a 707-horsepower capacity. Considering Fiat Chrysler has never used a Hellcat engine with less than 707-hp, this claim appears to have a basis.
The V8 will be paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission that will send power to the four-wheel-drive layout.
Ram’s Rebel TRX was originally scheduled to debut at the 2020 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Unfortunately, organizers of the event were forced to cancel the show due to the coronavirus pandemic.
More details about the TRX are expected to come out in the next few weeks as the model approaches its official debut.
