Over 425,000 units of Ram and Jeep vehicles are being recalled due to faulty wipers.

Based on documents filed by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 425,588 vehicles may have been equipped with defective wiper arms. These wiper arms could become loose and leave the windshield wipers inoperable when needed.

The recall affects three models from the FCA, namely, the 2019-2020 Ram 1500, 1500 Classic, and Jeep Compass.

Owners of the affected vehicles are advised to bring them to a local dealer so technicians can conduct the necessary repairs.

According to findings, the wipers do not return to their proper rest positions after use and are unable to clear the entire windshield when used. There is also a possibility for them to stop working altogether.

To fix the problem, FCA has instructed its dealers to tighten the wiper nuts so the wipers can function as they should. The repair costs will be free for customers.

Owners of the affected vehicles are advised to bring them to a local dealer so technicians can conduct the necessary repairs. Recall notices are also set to be mailed out beginning May 29.
