Yaw Rate Sensor

A yaw rate sensor measures a vehicle’s yaw rate, or its angular velocity around its vertical axis. Vehicles tend to tilt when they brake or turn around corners. The yaw rate sensor is important for vehicles equipped with a torque vectoring system. For these functions to work, it needs information from the yaw rate sensor to determine when a vehicle is tilting. The rate in which the vehicle tilts will determine how much the torque vectoring system will intervene. The yaw rate sensor also provides information to a vehicle’s anti-lock braking system.

Yoke

Yoke, in the automotive context, usually refers to a U-shaped metal piece used to connect two parts of a vehicle’s drivetrain or suspension. Driveshaft yokes, for example, are usually on the ends of the driveshaft.

There are different types of yokes sold on the market. Some are used for the driveshaft, steering, and axles. If you need a yoke replacement, make sure to verify which yoke you need before buying anything.

Yoke Conversion Kit

The yoke conversion kit contains the parts and components necessary to convert the driveshaft yoke from one type to another, such as from a slip yoke or pinion yoke to a U bolt style yoke. Depending on the product, it can have a new yoke, U-bolts, pinion seals, and a flanged nut. Yoke conversion changes the performance of the drivetrain, making the vehicle more capable in driving scenarios like off-roading. It also helps prevent the U joints from disconnecting while driving on rough terrain.

Yoke Repair Kit

The Yoke Repair Kit is a kit that consists of the necessary tools for repairing your vehicle’s transmission yoke while on the go. It typically comes with a yoke, U-joint, U-bolt, pinion seal, and a pinion nut. Some yoke repair kits also come with a pinion nut washer and thread locker. A transmission yoke connects two driveline shafts and transfers power from one shaft to the other through a universal joint connection. It transfers rotary motion along the lengthwise axis.

Yoke Washer

The Yoke Washer is typically found attached to a transmission yoke, which connects the transmission to the driveshaft. The washer helps to distribute the load on the yoke as it facilitates the power transfer from the transmission to the wheels. This allows the yoke to keep the drivetrain balanced and properly aligned with the transmission. Yoke washers are made from solid metals like stainless steel and iron, and are designed like flattened, circular rings.
