Not all models make it to their 40th anniversary in the market. So it’s just right that Nissan is making a celebration out of the Maxima’s fourth decade of production.

For the coming 2021 model year, Nissan was revealed to be preparing a Limited Model for its longest continuously-running nameplate in the United States.

As a way of honoring the model’s longevity, Nissan will be offering a specially designed Maxima with a two-tone Ruby Slate Gray Pearl and black paint job as well as black exhaust tips and a special badging on the exterior. It will be built on the Platinum trim architecture and will also feature black 19-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of the interior, this limited-edition model will get premium treatment with heated rear seats and red leather upholstery that feature red contrast stitching.

The new Maxima will be powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers up to 300 horsepower. It will be paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Nissan has not released the official pricing for the 40th Anniversary Edition Maxima, but it is expected to be announced just before the model goes on sale this fall.
