Chevrolet knows how SUV fans love sporty features on their vehicles and the automaker is taking advantage of the situation by offering more packages to suit their taste. In a recent announcement, Chevrolet revealed its plans to offer again the RS trim, Sport, and Midnight packages due to popular demand.
This means interested buyers can expect more blacked-out packages for various Chevrolet models, as well as more pizzazz on the RS trims and other sporty variants.
Considering the latest sales numbers, the update came not as a surprise. In fact, a third of all compact and midsize SUVs Chevrolet sold in 2020 carry the RS badge. About 25% of Trailblazer customers also opted for the RS trim, while one-third of all Blazer buyers did the same. For the 2022 model year, the RS variant will also be offered in the Equinox range and will likely be followed by other models from the Chevrolet umbrella.
Another popular option among customers is the Redline package, which is offered on the Traverse. According to the automaker, 60% of all Traverse sales can be attributed to a Premier trim with an additional Redline package.
Also part of the list is the growing popularity of Midnight editions that have noticeably taken a space in the lineup. More specifically, Chevrolet shared that 20% of all Trax models sold in the past year came with a Midnight package.
With this new undertaking, it would be interesting to know which Chevrolet models will be updated with new variants and special packages starting with the 2021 model year.
