Uneventful. This is how 2020 has been for Mitsubishi. The automaker largely remained a bystander for most of last year, sticking to its business plan of price over performance.
Still, Mitsubishi remains true to its reputation of offering affordable vehicles to customers even if it meant being overshadowed by its competitors. The latest model to turn heads for its cheap price is the new 2021 Outlander Sport, which the automaker announced will start at just $22,090 (including the mandatory $1,095 destination fee).
This price is for the entry-level two-wheel-drive S trim. However, this variant does not show on Mitsubishi’s website. Instead, interested buyers who will visit the brand’s page will be greeted by the two-wheel-drive ES trim, which costs $24,090. As to why that is, only the brand knows.
But Mitsubishi representatives assured customers that the cheaper S trim will eventually be added to the website. Moreover, dealers have information about the base model, so buyers won’t have problems inquiring about or purchasing it.
The 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport enters the new model year without much updates. But for customers looking for an affordable crossover, it might be the model worth considering.
