Summary
  • The PowerStop front and rear rotor (Geomet-coated) and brake pad kit fit like the original, and they work and look great.
  • If you’re a DIYer, you shouldn’t have any problem installing the kit yourself. The rubber inserts for the caliper bolts are a little tough to switch, but that’s the only challenging part of the job.
  • The kit is about $50 less expensive than similar products in the reviewer’s local parts store. That’s not even for the better coated rotors, which cost more.

Key Information

Why You May Need a PowerStop Front and Rear Rotor and Brake Pad Kit

We had a brake pulse (steering wheel shake) when stopping (front) and some noise in the rear. The car needed the rotors machined or replaced along with new pads. I went with replacement.

Initial Observations

The brakes and rotors came in great condition and looked great. I like the option of the coated rotors, so that’s what I went with.

The Fit

I matched up everything before installing and they are correct. Installation went well and everything fit like the original.

Installation

Installation was easy. It’s a typical brake job and it didn’t take too long. If you’re a do-it-yourself person you shouldn’t have any problem. On this model (2004 Chrysler Town & Country Touring 6 Cyl 3.8L), there are rubber inserts for the caliper bolts to go into, and they came with the kit. Those are a little tough to switch, but that’s just because of the way they are, not because of the parts.

Performance and Overall Quality

After the installation, the test drive went great and it took care of the pulsing and noise.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Fit like the original, and they work and look great.
  • Excellent price for the kit. For this vehicle, it was about $50 cheaper than the local parts store, and that’s not even for the better coated rotors that would cost more.

Cons

  • None

The Verdict

In conclusion, brakes look great, fit like the originals and they worked great on the test drive. Definitely recommend buying this kit for your vehicle.
