Reading Time: 4 minutes
Summary
  • Dorman replacement headlight assemblies look exactly like stock headlights. They come with the bulbs, but without the blinker/parking bulbs. The old parking bulbs will go right in the spot.
  • Installation is very easy and takes about 2 minutes on each side if you have the socket ready on a screw gun.
  • The headlights produce a bright light and can be $70 less expensive than similar assemblies you can get at parts stores, depending on your location. However, in this particular installation on a 2004 Chrysler Town & Country, the passenger side headlight was not flush with the fender, which the reviewer said was not very noticeable.

Key Information

Why You May Need Dorman Replacement Headlights

The headlights on our 2004 Chrysler Town & Country were very fogged up and not very bright anymore. They can be cleaned but that doesn’t always work, and it doesn’t last very long, so I wanted new headlight assemblies.

Dorman Passenger Side Headlight

This replacement headlight for a 2004 Chrysler Town & Country, while in great condition and more affordable than similar assemblies from local parts stores, was not flush with the fender in this particular installation.

Initial Observations

The Dorman headlamp assemblies looked great in new condition. They looked just like the old ones, and are exact replacements. They had the headlight bulbs included but not the blinker/parking bulb. Not a problem though because the old ones go right in the spot for it.

The Fit

They fit just fine, but I did notice the passenger side rear of the headlight fender side stuck out a little bit more, but it didn’t look that bad. The right side was flush with the fender.

Installation

Installation on this van was super easy. It takes about 2 minutes per side when you have the socket ready on a screw gun. You only need an 8mm socket and a small screwdriver to unclip bulb connectors for these lights.

Performance and Overall Quality

The Dorman headlights work awesome. They’re definitely brighter than the old worn-out ones. My wife was very happy to be able to see the road now.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Direct replacements for the original headlights
  • Price point was great at around $70 better than the local parts store. The one I compared to was about the same price per side, not for the pair of assemblies.

Cons

  • If any, it was just the passenger side wasn’t flush with the fender but it didn’t bother me much. It wasn’t very noticeable.

The Verdict

I thought these headlights were a great option, and I would definitely recommend them. As a Dorman product, it is a familiar brand.
