Only a few months before the 2021 Wrangler 4xe arrives in dealerships, Jeep has released the final pricing for the model.
Dubbed as the first-ever plug-in hybrid model from the Wrangler range, the 4xe will be offered in two trim levels: the base model Sahara, which gets a starting price of $491490, and the Rubicon trim, which retails for $53,190.
These prices put the 4xe plug-in hybrid models at around $10,000 more than the gasoline-only Wrangler variants. But Jeep is giving customers more reason to anticipate the model despite the higher price tag. For instance, for the 4xe’s Rubicon trim, customers can expect an 8.4-inch infotainment screen and a more improved nine-speaker Alpine audio system. Meanwhile, the lower Sahara trim boasts of leather bucket seats.
The 4xe will be offered with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a 17.0-kWh battery. This setup can deliver 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Too, it can provide up to 25 miles of electric-only range in a single charge.
The 4xe is also equipped for off-road adventures, thanks to the two-speed transfer case that allows a full-time four-wheel-drive, as well as the solid Dana 44 axles, 10.8 inches of ground clearance, and water fording depth of up to 30 inches.
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug-in Hybrid is set to arrive at dealerships in the United States in the first quarter of the year.
