Jay Leno’s net worth is approximately $450 million, with an annual income of between $10 million and $15 million. His stand-up tours and TV contracts earn him more than enough to cover the costs of maintaining a high-end car collection.

It’s also worth mentioning that Leno’s financial savviness plays a huge role in accumulating such a large net worth. The man has built a substantial fortune through shrewd and calculated investments, as well as his entrepreneurial endeavors.

Leno also makes a lot of money through his show, Jay Leno’s Garage, which aired from 2015 to 2022 before moving to YouTube. Leno hosts and showcases some of his favorite vehicles, reviewing them and talking about various automotive topics, such as classic cars, supercars, restoration projects, road tests, and more.

Leno’s car collection isn’t focused on any brand or vehicle type, making it one of the most diverse car collections in the world. Here are some of the gems in his collection:

1969 and 1967 Lamborghini Miura S

The Miura is the first model to put Lamborghini on the map, and it’s one of the most stunning supercars ever made. Leno owns a 1967 Miura and a 1969 Miura, and he uses one of them as a daily driver. He had a set of heavy-duty cooling fans installed in this classic to fight the California heat.

American LaFrance Fire Truck

Jay Leno’s bright red fire truck is one of the most unique gems in his collection. Warner Bros Studios bought the truck and eventually sold it to the Burbank airport for use in their fire department. When it reached the end of its service life, it gathered dust on the airport’s runway until Leno got it for free.

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado

The 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado was the first car made in the country with a front-wheel drive. Interestingly, Leno bought this car and changed it to a rear-wheel-drive vehicle. He also upgraded its engine, which can now generate 1000 horsepower.

1909 Stanley Steamer

This steam-powered vintage car dates back to the days when cars operated purely on steam rather than oil. Driving it is neither quick nor simple, and it usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes to get it up and running. Despite that, Leno drives it about on occasion.

1986 Lamborghini Countach

The Lamborghini Countach is a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car with a unique shape. It became popular in the 80s because of its futuristic design. Leno spent around $200,000 to restore his Lamborghini Countach to its former glory.

1963 Chrysler Turbine Car

The Chrysler Turbine was a ground-breaking car concept in 1963. It can run by any combustible resource like peanut oil, however, it tends to be noisy and inefficient. The Chrysler Turbine was never mass produced, and all but nine of the 55 units produced were destroyed. Leno owns one of them.

1995 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe

This model is named the “Gullwing” because of its eye-catching swinging doors, and it remains one of the best cars ever produced by the automaker. Even though he got it for a bargain, Jay Leno had to spend a lot of money to restore 300SL Gullwing. He is the third owner of his unit.

2006 Ecojet

With some help from his friends at General Motors, Leno designed the Ecojet. A biodiesel-fueled 650-horsepower Honeywell Lt-101 turbine engine that runs on biodiesel powers it, and it’s fast enough to blow out a window.

1994 McLaren F1

Jay Leno is a McLaren fan, which explains why he owns several McLarens—including the rare 1994 McLaren F1. This model is known as one of the fastest naturally aspirated cars in the world. Its jaw-dropping design and detail make it one of the best cars in Leno’s collection.

What Makes Jay Leno’s Car Collection So Important?

Leno’s garage is valuable because it doesn’t just serve as one man’s vast collection of rare and expensive vehicles. It also doubles as a museum of sorts where people are free to donate old vehicles. Every vehicle in his collection is well-preserved and cared for.

Interestingly, most of the vehicles in the hit video game L.A. Noire (2011) were modeled after the cars in Jay Leno’s garage.
