Have you ever wondered what Katniss Everdeen or Lara Croft would have in their cars? It’s actually a question we’ve thought about. How would some of media’s famous favorites trick out their ride, and can you customize yours to match? We scoured the CarParts.com website to see what we could find for these famous fictional big-shots:
Elle Woods (Legally Blonde)
Elle Woods is all about style and presence. This brilliant blonde deserves the pinkest and most dazzling accessories to go along with her convertible. The more eye-catching the better, we say, especially for a girl like Elle. She lives and breathes her bright pink branding, and she isn’t afraid to shout it to the world.
The Dash Designs Pink and Silver License Plate Frame would fit Elle’s iconic 22BLONDE license plate perfectly. The crystals would glitter beautifully in the bright California sun she loves so much.
A Seat Designs Pink Neosupreme Seat Cover would let everyone in Elle’s car enjoy a splash of pink in their lives. Seeing her friends framed by her favorite color would bring a smile to Elle’s face too!
James Bond (James Bond)
James Bond, 007, superspy icon of the century. Whatever you choose to call him, there’s no doubt Mr. Bond carries class as easily as he carries his Walther PPK. While 007 has driven a wide range of vehicles over the years on his various missions, we were left wondering what he might want installed in his personal ride.
We think the Replacement Driver and Passenger Side Fog Lights would make an excellent addition since he lives in often-foggy London. Fog lights are a must-have, and who knows, maybe Q can outfit them with a nasty surprise for anyone looking to jump the superspy on the road.
Now a set of Dorman Hub Caps is something that’ll really let Q run wild on 007’s behalf. Just think of what the genius inventor can hide behind that classy silver exterior.
Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games)
If the Girl on Fire had her own vehicle, what do you think she’d carry around? The vehicles we see in the Hunger Games movie are mostly military trucks, and we wouldn’t have been surprised if she nabbed one during one of her fights in the Capitol. Alas, we never get to see Katniss behind the wheel, so we’ll never know. It’s fun to think about though.
Considering she lives in a dystopia, we wouldn’t be surprised if Katniss dragged around an RT Off-Road Crown Jerry Can filled with fuel for emergencies. Also, we wouldn’t put it past her to use it to light up a scene.
Katniss would probably want a Rhino-Rack Cargo Bag to haul around any useful gear she finds. After all, the back seat would be full since she’d want to take Prim, her mother, Gale, and Peeta with her.
Vito Corleone (The Godfather)
Don Corleone, the Godfather himself. What would a man who has everything want in his car? We’d think a few precautionary items would be handy, especially in his line of work. Protecting the family is bloody, busy work, and Don Corleone knows it all too well.
Don Corleone would likely want a Husky Liners Weatherbeater Series Cargo Mat or something similar in his trunk. Its weatherproof properties would be excellent for cleaning up after feeding the fishes or chopping off horse heads.
For any valuable documents or precious cargo, Don Corleone would likely favor the Bestop Under Seat Storage Box. It even has a lock to keep the contents safe from wandering eyes.
Kevin McCallister (Home Alone)
Ok, Kevin definitely wouldn’t be driving the car since he’s way too young. But you must admit, the little troublemaker would have a field day if he could find the right tools inside the family car to ward off any burglars. He might even sneak some supplies the next time his mom visits the hardware store with him and his siblings in tow.
A Curt Cargo Net could easily snag a thief or two if rigged right. Knowing Kevin, he’d even manage to tie them straight to the car’s cargo rack.
Similarly, Kevin can set up all sorts of tripwires with a Smittybilt Tow Rope. If needed, the rope can even hold up a bag of bricks so Kevin can drop them on ne’er do wells as he would an anvil.
MacGyver (MacGyver)
There’s a reason the MacGyver name became synonymous with improvisation. MacGyver is an agent much like James Bond, but he’s much more focused on the nitty gritties of field work and hates using guns. They’re like two sides of the same coin. Where Bond would go for style and class, MacGyver would go for practicality and efficiency. Just think what he would keep in his car for special occasions.
An OEMTOOLS Multi-Tool would never go amiss in MacGyver’s glovebox. We wouldn’t be surprised if he had multiples in case he lost one.
MacGyver could probably rig a Schumacher Electric Jump Starter in a dozen different ways. While we don’t recommend you use it in any of those ways, we do think both you and MacGyver would appreciate this jump starter if your car battery ever goes kaput.
Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
Ah, Lara Croft, the famous dinosaur-fighting archaeologist. Whether in the video games or movies, we think Lara would have a rough and tumble off-roadster with a kit to match. It’d need to keep her and her precious artifacts safe as she barrels through the jungle pursued by bad guys, after all.
We think the Rugged Ridge Off-Road Bumper would help with a lot of the barrelling. It serves to both protect Lara’s front bumper and as an effective ram for anyone looking to stop her.
We don’t think Laura would install the Rugged Ridge Cup Holder, but we do think her butler Winston might insist on it. The Croft family is British, after all, and we don’t doubt Winston would pack her some tea for her trips.
