Step 1: Turn off your engine and engage the parking brake.
Step 2: Use a ratchet, an extender, and a 5.5mm socket to unscrew the three plastic holding screws on the steering column.
Step 3: Remove the cover from the gear shift lever. Turn the steering wheel to access the first plastic locking pin on the steering column.
Step 4: Insert a flathead screwdriver into the notch and pry it. Repeat this step on the other side.
Step 5: Lower the steering wheel to remove the top plastic piece. Then lift the steering wheel back up. Remove the key to ease the removal of the bottom plastic piece.
Step 6: Using a screwdriver and a Torx T15 bit, unscrew the two screws holding the turn signal switch.
Step 7: Remove the switch from its housing and disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the plastic tab.
Step 8: Take the new turn signal switch and plug it in. Put it back in its place and screw the two retaining screws back in.
Step 9: Replace the bottom plastic by fitting it into the lock. Lower the steering wheel and snap the top plastic onto the left side.
Step 10: Reinsert the key so you can turn the steering wheel and put the right side back in place.
Step 11: Put the cover back on the gear shift lever. Lift the steering wheel back up and screw the three holding screws back in. Test your new turn signal switch to ensure proper functionality.
