• Ratchet
• 10mm socket
• Fork
• Flat head screwdriver
• Hammer
• Sandpaper

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Initial Preparations

• Turn off your engine and engage the parking brake.

Step 2: Preparing for Wheel Removal

• Loosen the stud bolts on the rear wheel.
• Lift the rear of your vehicle then safely place the vehicle on the jack stands.

Step 3: Wheel Removal

• To change the rear ABS sensor, remove the wheel for full access. Remember to place the removed wheel under the vehicle for added safety.

Step 4: Unscrewing ABS Sensor Retaining Screw

• Use a ratchet and a 10mm socket to unscrew the ABS sensor retaining screw. Gently jiggle the sensor back and forth to remove it.

Step 5: Unclipping ABS Sensor Cable

• Use a fork to unclip the ABS sensor cable retaining clip located on the rear axle. If the clip breaks, remove the remaining piece with a screwdriver. Unclip all the clips securing the ABS sensor cable to the metal support where the cable connector is attached.

Step 6: Disconnecting Cable Connector

• Once the cable is unclipped, use a fork to remove the ABS sensor cable connector from its support. Disconnect the connector by pressing the plastic tab and pulling it. Remove the cable.

Step 7: Handling Broken Cable Clip

• If the cable connector clip breaks, use a flat head screwdriver and a hammer to remove any remaining pieces. Consider using contact cleaner on the connectors.

Step 8: Reconnecting New Cable

• Take the new cable and reconnect the connector. Reclip the connector onto its support, and secure the cable back onto the support.

Step 9: Reclipping Cable Retaining Clips

• Reclip all the ABS sensor cable retaining clips.

Step 10: Cleaning Sensor Location

• Before installing the new sensor, thoroughly clean its housing using fine sandpaper.

Step 11: Installing New Sensor

Insert the new sensor into its housing. Retighten the retaining screw.

Step 12: Reattaching Wheel

• Now, you can put the wheel back on your vehicle.

Step 13: Lowering Vehicle and Securing Wheel

• Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground. Properly block the wheel to prevent movement. The rear ABS sensor replacement is now complete.
