  • Flat head screwdriver

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Initial Preparations

  • Turn off your engine and engage the parking brake. Pull on the hood release handle and open the hood.

Step 2: Removing the Front Bumper

  • To change the lower cover valance, start by removing the front bumper. If desired, for easier access, remove the metal brackets from the front bumper (optional but recommended).

Step 3: Separating the Valance

  • Separate the valance from the front bumper. Observe the 15 screws located on the lower cover valance.

Step 4: Removing Valance Screws

  • Use a ratchet and a 10mm socket to remove all 15 screws securing the lower cover valance. Spray penetrating oil on the screws to aid in loosening, especially if rusted.

Step 5: Removing License Plate Holder

  • Use needle-nose pliers to compress the clips securing the license plate holder, then remove the license plate holder.

Step 6: Detaching Lower Cover Valance

  • Similarly, release the two clips holding the lower cover valance on the front bumper.

Step 7: Preparing the New Valance

  • Take the new lower cover valance then replace the retaining clips onto the new valance.

Step 8: Reattaching Valance to Bumper

  • Reattach the front bumper onto the lower cover valance. Secure the clips to hold the valance in place.

Step 9: Reinstalling License Plate Holder

  • Reinstall the license plate holder onto the valance.

Step 10: Screwing Valance and Bumper Together

  • Screw back in the 15 screws that connect the front bumper to the lower cover valance. Ensure each screw is properly tightened.
