Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake. Open the car door.

Step 2: To change the side view mirror, start by removing the door trim.

Step 3: Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the plastic cover inside the door handle.

Step 4: With a multi-bit screwdriver and an 8mm bit, unscrew the screw holding the inner door panel.

Step 5: Use a 6mm socket to unscrew the two screws located at the bottom of the inner door panel.

Step 6: Gently remove the inner lining of the door opener using a fork.

Step 7: Unscrew the final screw holding the door panel using an 8mm socket.

Step 8: Lift off the door panel from the top track and place it on a raised surface to avoid damaging cables. This grants access to the three retaining nuts of the side view mirror.

Step 9: Use a ratchet and an 11mm socket to unscrew the three holding screws on the side view mirror.

Step 10: Slightly pull out the mirror to disconnect the electrical connection by pushing on the holding pin.

Step 11: Remove the old side view mirror and prepare the new one.

Step 12: Take off the rubber protectors from the new mirror and plug the electrical connector back in.

Step 13: Insert the new side view mirror into its housing and hand-tighten the three nuts. Finish tightening the nuts using a ratchet.

Step 14: Before reinstalling the door panel, identify the retaining hooks that need to fit into the door structure.

Step 15: Carefully place the door panel back on, ensuring the entire trim rests against the door.

Step 16: Pass the door lock latch through the trim and ensure the trim is correctly aligned.

Step 17: Once the panel is properly positioned, screw in the screw that lines up with the door’s opening system.

Step 18: Put the inner lining back in place and screw back the screw located in the handle.

Step 19: Replace the plastic cover and secure the two screws located at the bottom of the inner door panel.
