Here’s the toolbox we recommend to repair your Dodge RAM 1500: HM85 85 Piece Ratchet and Socket Set

List of tools:

  • Ratchet
  • 8mm socket
  • 10mm socket
  • Fork

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Turn off the engine and set the parking brake.

Step 2: Pull the hood release handle and open the hood.

Step 3: Remove the plastic cover by pulling on the 6 plastic rivets to access the headlight retaining bolts.

Step 4: Using a ratchet and an 8 mm socket, unscrew the 4 bolts holding the grille assembly and remove it.

Step 5: Using a ratchet and a 10 mm socket, unscrew the 2 bolts holding the headlight.

Step 6: At the mudguard, use a fork to remove the plastic rivet to open the access hatch to the rear headlight retaining system.

Step 7: Push the retaining tab to unlock the headlight and move it aside.

Step 8: Disconnect the first power connector from the headlight by pressing the tab and pulling on the pod.

Step 9: Disconnect the second power connector by pushing the red tab and pulling on the pod.

Step 10: Take the new headlight, which includes all the bulbs.

Step 11: Reposition the headlight assembly and reconnect the headlight power connectors.

Step 12: Put the headlight back in place.

Step 13: Tighten the two headlight retaining bolts.

Step 14: Lock the headlight with the retaining tab.

Step 15: Close the access hatch and put the rivet back in place.

Step 16: Put the grille assembly back on and retighten the 4 bolts.

Step 17: Refit the plastic cover and secure it with the 6 rivets.

Step 18: Operation complete.
