Step 1: Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake.
Step 2: Loosen the stud bolts on the front wheels.
Step 3: Consult our “How to jack your Ford F-150 safely” video for guidance before proceeding.
Step 6: Place the vehicle on the axle stands.
Step 7: To fully access the suspension system and change the sway bar end link, remove the front wheels.
Step 8: Locate the sway bar end link – it connects the sway bar to the lower control arms, enhancing wheel stability.
Step 9: If components are stuck, apply oil and brush to ease removal.
Step 10: Using an 18 mm spanner, unscrew the upper ball joint nut. Hold the joint with an 8 mm socket and ratchet to prevent rotation.
Step 11: Repeat the process for the lower ball joint using an 18 mm socket and ratchet. Hold the sway bar link to prevent rotation while accessing the lower ball joint nut.
Step 12: Use a breaker bar to lift the sway bar, detaching it from the link. Remove the old sway bar end link.
Step 13: Install the new sway bar end link and tighten the supplied nuts. Attach it to the lower control arm.
Step 14: Lift the sway bar once again and insert the new link into it.
Step 15: Begin by tightening the nut on the lower ball joint until it makes contact.
Step 16: Use the breaker bar to maneuver the sway bar, allowing installation of the top nut. Screw it tightly.
Step 17: Use a torque wrench to tighten all nuts properly.
Step 18: With the sway bar end link successfully replaced, put the front wheels back on your vehicle.
Step 19: Lower the vehicle back to the ground and ensure the wheels are securely blocked.

The sway bar end link connects the sway bar to the lower control arms to keep the wheels firmly on the ground at all times.
The components to be removed are very often seized up, so don’t hesitate to brush and to use penetrating oil to make removal easier.
