Step-by-Step Instructions

Note: Ensure your Dodge RAM 1500 is on level ground before attempting to lift it.

Front Lifting:

Step 1: Preparation

  • Turn off your engine and set the parking brake.
  • Loosen wheel nuts if wheel removal is necessary.

Step 2: Use Proper Equipment

  • Gather a jack and a pair of jack stands.

Step 3: Positioning the Jack

  • Insert the jack under the vehicle at door level, resting on the frame rail for a solid lifting base.

Step 4: Lifting and Securing

  • Lift the front of your RAM 1500 using the jack.
  • Place a jack stand under the frame rail.
  • Slowly lower the vehicle onto the jack stand for stability.
  • Optionally, remove the wheel, and for added safety, place it under the vehicle.

Step 5: Repeating for Other Side

  • If lifting both sides, repeat the process for the other side.

Step 6: Lowering to the Ground

  • Put the wheel back on if removed and retighten the nuts.
  • Reposition the jack, lift the vehicle slightly, and remove the jack stand.
  • Gently lower the vehicle to the ground.
  • Finalize the wheel tightening if necessary.

Rear Lifting:

Step 1: Positioning the Jack (Under the Differential)

  • For rear lifting, place the jack under the differential to lift both sides simultaneously.
  • Placing Jack Stand:
  • Put the jack stand under the rear axle.

Step 2: Lifting and Securing

  • Lift the rear of your RAM 1500 using the jack under the differential.
  • Place a jack stand under the rear axle.
  • Slowly lower the vehicle onto the jack stand for stability.

Step 3: Lowering to the Ground

  • Reposition the jack, lift the vehicle slightly, and remove the jack stand.
  • Gently lower the vehicle to the ground.

Step 4: Final Steps

  • You can now safely perform various operations on your RAM 1500.
  • Always follow safety precautions, and remember to retighten wheels after lifting.
