Step 1: Check Engine Oil Level

Remove the oil dipstick from its sheath.
Wipe it clean with a paper towel.
Reinsert the dipstick fully.
Pull it out again and observe the gauge at the end.
Checking levels should be done with a cold engine on level ground.

Step 2: Interpret the Gauge

The ribbed end of the gauge provides the oil level image.
Optimal level is when it’s in the middle of this ribbed part.

Step 3: Caution on Oil Level

Do not exceed the maximum level indicated.
Overfilling can lead to engine failure.

Step 4: Top Up Engine Oil

If oil level is low, open the filler cap.
Add a small amount of oil (a few ounces).
Recheck the level by repeating steps 2 and 3.

Step 5: Check Coolant Level

Open the expansion tank cap and fill to the maximum level.
Avoid going above the indicated maximum level.
Never check or add coolant to a hot engine.

Step 6: Monitor Brake Fluid

Brake fluid reservoir has level graduations.
Low fluid level suggests brake lining wear.
Pistons compensate for wear by extending, causing level drop.
Correct low levels by adding brake fluid.

Step 7: Add Washer Pump Fluid

While checking brake fluid, also add washer pump fluid to its tank.
This fluid helps maintain a clear windshield and rear window.
