Following the announcement on the 2020 Civic Hatchback’s refresh, Honda confirmed it is also giving the Civic Si Coupe and Civic Si Sedan a facelift for the 2020 model year.
The models are set to arrive in dealerships on September 6 and the automaker just shared the styling and equipment updates for both Civic variants.
The 2020 Civic Si Coupe looks more aggressive with its revised lower bumper fog light housings that also come with a gloss black surrounding trim and a body-color crossbar. The brand’s iconic “wing” grille crossbar is also updated, as well as the headlights that are now equipped with multi-element LED lamps with a wider and longer light beam. Both the Si Coupe and Si Sedan are also getting new LED fog lights.
Honda is also giving the Si Sedan a new lower bumper treatment that complements the car’s new front design. Matte black 18-inch wheels with performance tires are now offered as standard while summer tires are also available as an option.
For the interior, both the Civic Si Coupe and Sedan have updated sport seats with red accents on the bottom and back of the seats, while an instrument panel is accentuated with a red trim.
The 2020 Civic Si carries the same 1.5-liter direct injected and turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine that makes 205-horsepower and is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, and adjustable two-mode adaptive damper system as the 2019 model. But for the upcoming version, Honda improved the car’s acceleration with a transmission that has a six-percent shorter final-drive ratio.
Both models will also feature the Honda Sensing suite, which comes with a slew of safety and driver- assist technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning. Also included in the Honda Sensing suite are automatic high beams.
The 2020 Honda Civic Si goes on sale with a starting price of $25,000 for the Coupe and $25,200 for the Sedan, with a $930 destination charge.
