Honda recently released details on the styling updates of its Civic Hatchback lineup for the 2020 model year, some of which are shared with the refreshed sedan and coupe models.
The Japanese automaker also answered a common complaint among consumers–the lack of manual transmission options in the lineup.
For the approaching model year, Honda will start offering a six-speed manual transmission on its Civic Hatchback’s Sport Touring trim level. The manual transmission was only previously available on the Sport trim. Meanwhile, the Sport trim will be receiving more standard equipment in addition to the minor styling tweaks.
Among the updates on the Civic Hatchback are changes to the front fascia, which include a new bumper and grille and a darker headlight trim. For the other end of the vehicle, the rear bumper is also
reshaped. The 2020 Civic Hatchback is also getting new wheel designs and trim patterns that vary according to the trim levels. For interior upgrades, all variants are getting a sound-deadening feature that provides a soundproofing effect on the cabin.
Technology-wise, the award-winning Civic Sport Hatchback will include a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and a proximity-key system, while the EX trim will have a standard power driver’s seat.
The entry-level LX trim for the 2020 Honda Civic hatchback is offered at $22,580, which is $200 higher than the previous generation. Other trim levels have a price increase between $100 and $500. The manual transmission Sport Touring trim is available for $28,980. The new 2020 Civic hatchback is available in dealerships beginning this month.
