Years after Jeep first teased the possibility of getting half-doors on the Wrangler JL, the automaker has finally made the feature available across all its dealerships in the United States. Dubbed as the “Dual-Door Group,” the option is now live on the configurator for the 2021 model.
The “Dual Doors” will come in two types: a pair of standard doors and another pair of half doors. The half doors are designed with removable windows and a lower opening, likely for a more rugged experience.
Jeep is also giving customers the freedom to choose between the “Premium Uppers” and “Base Uppers,” with the difference being the type of fabric used. The Premium style uses a type of fabric similar to the brand’s soft top, while the Base style has a plasticky vinyl feel to it. Both options come with different sets of features. For one, heated mirrors and speed-sensitive power locks are available on the Premium but not the Base.
In terms of pricing, the Base Uppers on a two-door Wrangler sets customers back by up to $2,350, while the Premium Uppers retail for $2,550. The price goes higher for the four-door variants of the Wrangler at $3,995 for the Base and $4,395 for the Premium.
Among the paint jobs available to half-door buyers are Billet Silver, Black, Bright White, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal. HellaYella, Hydro Blue, Sarge Green, Snazzberry, and Sting Gray.
