With all the hype surrounding the return of the Hummer months before it happened, it’s no surprise reservation slots for the upcoming electric truck have already sold out.

For the 2022 model year, only one Hummer model will be available: the Edition 1. It’s a limited-run version of the new Hummer EV that will only be offered for the first year of production of the new GMC sub-brand.

Similar to the reservation process for the revived Ford Bronco SUV, interested buyers can reserve an Edition 1 unit for $100. But, according to General Motors, all available reservation slots for the vehicle have already been “reserved out.”

The result is not exactly unexpected. Despite the hefty $112,595 price tag on the fully loaded EV, customers are looking forward to the truck’s 1,000-horsepower output, three-second 0-to-60-mph acceleration, and other off-roading features. Too, the truck is equipped with a multi-panel Infinity Roof, the “Watts to Freedom” launch mode, and plenty more tech and capabilities.

There’s no saying what GM plans next and how many units will be produced for other Hummer EV models arriving beginning 2023. It could, however, be possible for the automaker to release additional reservation slots for the Edition 1 just like what Ford did when the 3,500 slots for the limited First Edition model of the new Ford Bronco ran out.

At the moment, all interested buyers can do is wait for further announcements.
