Of the many things GMC is known for, its tradition of customizing the Sierra HD pickup every winter is much applauded among the community. The automaker has done this since 2017 and is doing it again this 2020 with the release of the GMC Sierra HD AT4 All Mountain.
First unveiled at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show, the Sierra HD AT4 All Mountain features a set of snow tracks to equip it for adventure this cold season. The snow tracks, according to GMC, cost $10,000 each.
The model comes looking especially bold this year, built around the AT4 trim, which includes a standard off-road suspension, skid plates, red tow hooks, two-speed transfer case, hill descent control, black chrome exterior trim, and GMC’s exclusive MultiPro tailgate.
It is also outfitted with a standard 6.6 liter V-8 which makes 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, while a Duramax diesel engine is offered as an option.
Styling-wise, the All Mountain AT4 features a unique custom wrap that shows the GMC logo over a mountain and has a snow-sports theme. But what caught everyone’s attention at the Auto Show were the Mattracks 150 Series tracks replacing the tires in all corners of the vehicle.
Moreover, the Sierra HD All Mountain also gets additional features such as a K2 Sports bar with a weatherproof Kicker System and LED lights, a 30-inch Ridgid light bar in front, as well as LED lighting in the wheel wells and underbody. At the back, customers can find a hitch-mounted snowboard and ski carrier.
According to GMC, the display model is headed to Vail Mountain in Colorado, where the company has deployed numerous trucks in the past to join other rescue and support vehicles.
