The Hummer EV is one of the most highly awaited vehicles to launch this year after the nameplate’s arrival was announced at the Super Bowl in February. However, due to coronavirus concerns, its debut slated in May was postponed.

In a teaser video showing the outlines of the upcoming Hummer truck and SUV, GMC confirmed the model will finally be making its entrance this fall.

Based on the video, the Hummer truck features a crew-cab, short-box configuration with a squared-off front end. The SUV, on the other hand, looks like a boxy four-door model with a more aggressive styling, thanks to the fender flares and external spare tire. The two models also appear to be equipped with tires meant for off-roading.

Other than these fancy design attributes, GMC previously revealed its plans to release one-, two-, and three-motor versions of the Hummer truck, which will all be equipped with a powertrain that can deliver up to 1,000 horsepower and can reportedly go from zero to 60 mph in 3 seconds.

General Motors’ Ultium battery packs will also make their way to the Hummers in various sizes, as well as removable roof panels, the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology, and two driving modes introduced by GMC—the Adrenaline mode and Crab mode.

According to GMC, production for both models is on schedule, with the vehicles expected to roll out of assembly lines sometime in the fall of 2021. The models are likely going to be called 2022 GMC Hummer EV SUT and SUV when they arrive.
