The 7,000 customers who successfully placed a reservation for the First Edition Ford Bronco were treated to good news as Ford announced a new update on the model: an exclusive paint job in a dark blue shade.

The Lightning Blue hue, which is also Ford’s official color, will be unique to the Bronco’s First Edition variant, according to the company’s post on Twitter.

While the First Edition is the only Bronco to carry the color, there have been other Ford nameplates that sported the same paint job in the past. The list includes the Ranger, F-150 Raptor, and Mustang Shelby GT350.

The striking color complements the Bronco’s two-tone interior, as well as the front push bar and massive tires, as shown in the photo that Ford shared on the social media page.

Ford, however, did not say if the special Lightning Blue shade would mean an additional charge for customers or not. But considering the First Edition’s price tag—$59,305 for the two-door and $63,500 for the four-door—is for a fully-loaded model, the color may come at a zero cost for buyers.

For other Bronco buyers who wish to get the SUV in blue, Ford is offering other shades as well. Among the 11 paint options that 2021 Bronco customers can choose from are a lighter hue in Velocity Blue and a darker choice in Antimatter Blue.
