It’s only been days since Ford welcomed the third-generation F-150 Raptor in its lineup and its future release is already drawing the public’s attention. On the day the automaker launched the new F-150 variant, it confirmed plans to release a Raptor R version for next year.
The Raptor R is a high-output model of the new Raptor and will be Ford’s direct answer to the Ram 1500 TRX. While the F-150 Raptor also has the ability to compete with the Ram truck, the upcoming Raptor R will be equipped with a more powerful setup.
According to reports, the Raptor R will be powered by the Mustang Shelby GT500’s supercharged V-8 that delivers more than 700 horsepower. It is believed to produce more horses than the 702 horsepower of the Ram 1500 TRX’s Hellcat engine.
The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor is set to arrive in the summer and will be followed by the F-150 Raptor R sometime in 2022.
