At this point, there is little else to know about the upcoming Kia Sorento.
However, just recently, Kia’s UK Twitter handle shared design sketches of the model, completely revealing what customers can expect during its debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show and when the midsize SUV arrives in the market.
Earlier teasers showed the model masked in shadows, but the latest set of sketches bring to light more distinct features of one of the company’s bread-and-butter vehicles.
The front fascia is bannered by a wider and larger interpretation of Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille, with LED accent lights accentuating the unique shape.
Meanwhile, the fender flares and massive wheels give the impression of a wider side profile in the sketches. Big wheels are currently a popular trend among vehicles, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they actually make it to the production version of the Sorento.
On the rear end, the Sorento’s tailgate features a crease in the metal below the rear window for a more muscular appeal, while the taillights are somewhat similar to the ones equipped in the full-size Telluride SUV.
Kia further shared a few details on the interior. The new Sorento is expected to have a big screen in the center, as the HVAC vents get transformed into a vertical design. The physical buttons sit just below the screen, while the rotary shifter is placed at the center stack.
The digital instrument cluster appears to be located in front of the driver, but it’s also possible to have a different setup for the midgrade and lower trims.
The 2020 Geneva Auto Show is scheduled in March, so more information on the upcoming Sorento is expected in the coming weeks.
