It’s a known fact that Toyota will be coming up with an all-improved Toyota Tundra soon, but rumors are swirling in the automotive community that the model could possibly get 450 hp from a twin-turbo hybrid V-6 engine.

According to unconfirmed reports, the next-generation Tundra will feature a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 hybrid engine with a maximum 450 hp. This engine is believed to be an evolved version of the current 3.5-L V6 engine but will be paired with twin turbocharges and an electric motor for higher horsepower.

In terms of mileage, the 2021 Tacoma is rumored to get around 30 mpg, which is better than any pickup currently available in the market.

According to rumors in the automotive community, the next-generation Toyota Tundra will feature a 3.5L twin-turbo V-6 hybrid engine with a maximum 450 horsepower.

Toyota has secured the top position in the midsize truck segment, and this could be improved even more with the launch of the new Tacoma, which is expected to feature higher horsepower and better fuel economy than what competitors are offering.

The last time the Toyota Tundra had a redesign was in 2007. Aside from the engine upgrade on the 2021 generation, there are other huge changes expected in the model, such as improved ride quality, more responsive steering, and improved gas efficiency.

The Tundra will also be sharing the same platform with the Tacoma, which is another popular model undergoing a redesign at present.

Toyota, however, is yet to confirm these reports. But what’s sure is that when the truck is introduced in 2021, it will go up against a hybrid Ford F-150, the Rivian R1T electric truck, and possibly a Tesla pickup.
