Kia recently shared a sketch of the inside of its upcoming full-size SUV called Mohave the Master. The model is scheduled for release in South Korea in the next few weeks.

The Mohave will be positioned as the brand’s most expensive family hauler in its home market, while there are also rumors that it will be available in American showrooms soon after the Korean release.

Named after the Mojave Desert, the SUV comes with elegantly styled interior made distinct by horizontal surfaces that emphasize the vehicle’s width, wood trim, and contrast stitching on the
dashboard and door panels.

While the sketch does not make it clear which particular trim level the interior belongs to, it suggests that the Mohave does not share similar parts and styling as its corporate sibling, the Telluride, which was launched in the United States this year.

In contrast to the Telluride, the touchscreen on the Mohave’s infotainment system is integrated into the dashboard and not propped up. Silver accents also frame the center console that comes in a piano black hue. Moreover, Kia launched the Telluride as its answer to the Volkswagen Atlas, whereas the Mohave appears to be competing with the Touareg.

Exterior-wise, the Mohave carries a bold design characterized by an upright grille with chrome-look vertical slats, LED headlights, and a model-specific emblem rather than the Kia logo. It also has a wide light bar with LED inserts that follows the same shape as the grille. Its body-on-frame architecture, meanwhile, slightly deviates from the original design released by Kia’s American division more than a decade ago under the Borrego nameplate.

While the automaker has not officially released information on the SUV’s technical specifications, the emblem on the hatch shows the model could be offering a 3.0-liter V6 engine while a gasoline-powered engine is also likely. A four-wheel drive option is also confirmed for the Mohave.
