One of the highlights of 2020 in terms of product launches is that of the revived Ford Bronco. The iconic nameplate returns to the SUV market packed with the latest features and technologies as well as an array of variants and retro-inspired styling.
Consequently, it came as no surprise when Ford was flooded with reservations for the model the moment it started accepting orders. But, due to delays brought by the pandemic, it could take a while before the Blue Oval delivers the units to customers.
In an announcement released by Ford, the automaker confirmed it will begin converting reservations into final orders this month, stating the order process will start on January 20 to be managed by the customer’s dealer of choice.
However, Ford is giving reservation-holders only until March 19 to pick a dealer, finalize their orders, and agree on the selling price. That is, if they want to receive their Broncos as a 2021 model. Transactions that will go past the prescribed date would automatically mean customers will receive their Broncos as a 2022 model.
Bronco buyers who have yet to make up their minds with regard to their SUV’s configuration will soon be notified of Ford’s build timeline as well as the allotted number of Broncos that each dealer can accommodate. The timeline depends on the reservation number, trim, model, and other details pertinent to the vehicle’s configuration.
As for those who will wait until 2022, Ford has something in store. According to the automaker, new paint options, roof variants, special editions, and an extended production period await these buyers.
The 2021 Ford Bronco is scheduled to go into production this spring and arrive sometime in the summer.
