A few teasers in and Jeep has finally announced the reveal date for the new Grand Wagoneer.
The automaker has been sharing teasers for something it first referred to as “Grand,” and now, the company has made it official: the next generation of the Grand Wagoneer full-size SUV will be formally introduced on September 3.
The latest in the series of teasers Jeep has released are photos showing the vehicle’s front grille, interior knob, and lots of chrome, hinting at a retro styling.
Based on the photos, it appears that Jeep is retaining design components from older Grand Wagoneer models. Aside from the chrome, the squared-off grille reminiscent of the model’s predecessors is seemingly stay.
The SUV will be offered in two versions: the shorter Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer. It will be competing against the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban in the segment and is expected to be built on the same body-on-frame platform as the Ram 1500.
There will also be two engine options (a V-6 and a V-8), as well as two variants (hybrid and plug-in hybrid).
Prior to the release of the close-up images of the front grille and interior knob, Jeep showed the badge and start and stop button of the Grand Wagoneer.
The new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are both expected to go on sale in the United States by mid-2021.
