2021 Ford F-150 Turns Heads in Long-Awaited Arrival

The highly-awaited 2021 Ford F-150 is finally here and people are raving about the five innovative features that come with the well-loved pickup truck.

Most talked about are the Max Recline Seats which, Ford says, give the truck the feel of a “second home.” The seats can lie flat to nearly 180 degrees, giving the passenger the feeling of sitting on a first-class plane seat.

Next is the PowerBoost V-6 hybrid powertrain that combines a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine and a 35-kilowatt electric motor in a 10-speed automatic transmission. It also comes with a 1.5-kilowatt-hour battery placed underneath the truck to provide enough power without reducing the cabin and cargo space.

The final horsepower figure is not yet available upon release, but what’s sure is that the electric motor is capable of delivering up to 47 horsepower. Experts are also looking at 700 miles of reach on a single tank of gas.

On top of the hybrid powertrain, Ford also launched an optional Pro Power Onboard feature to give owners the choice of leaving generators at home. While the PowerBoost hybrid drivetrain has a 2.4 kW standard that could increase up to 7.2-kW, the Pro Power Onboard provides a 2.0-kW output for models equipped with regular gas-powered engines.

Also included is a stowaway gear selector that allows drivers to fold it into the console with the push of a button. Doing so gives owners more space for the optional Interior Work Surface.

The Interior Work Surface can accommodate a 15-inch laptop and can also serve as a small dining table. Plus, it complements the bench seat and captain’s chair layout.

In terms of technology, the new F-150 is packed with the automaker’s Sync 4 infotainment system that includes the over-the-air update capability.

It’s interesting to note, however, that the 2021 Ford F-150 is not an overhauled version of the pickup truck but merely a refreshed edition before a new generation arrives.
