Of all the hatchback models available in the market today, the Honda Civic hatchback is probably one with the most solid following. It’s fun to drive and nice to navigate the roads in, which is why loyal customers are anticipating the arrival of its new version.

Just recently, spy shots of the upcoming model circulated online, giving everyone an idea of how the subtler design approach would look like on the all-new Civic hatchback.

As if the leaked photos are not enough to pique customers’ curiosity, a video reportedly taken in Columbus, Ohio has surfaced showing the hatch all covered in camo save for a portion of the rear end.

Sure, a lot of the details are concealed. But eagle-eyed netizens were quick to point out that the car is fitted with the exact same wheels fitted on the Civic Si, including the dual-exhaust tips. But considering the unusual shape of the rear end, there is no doubt it’s a hatchback underneath the camo.

This brings people to think if Honda is, in fact, working on releasing a hatch version of the Si. While that may be possible, it’s more likely that the automaker is looking to add some sporty styling details to the upcoming Civic hatchback.

As of writing, it’s unclear which model is in the video. What has been confirmed so far is that unlike the older models, Honda will build the new Civic hatch in the United States instead of the United Kingdom. Moreover, the lineup will only consist of the sedan and hatch beginning the 2022 model year as the Civic coupe has been discontinued.

More details will be released in the coming months as the official unveiling of the all-new 2022 Civic hatchback approaches.
