Ford is not done for 2020. Following the release of the reborn Bronco, the constant news on the next-generation F-150, as well as other model updates on the side, the automaker is now gearing up for the arrival of the next-generation Edge.

This coming model year, the midsize SUV is getting a huge upgrade with a 12.0-inch infotainment screen, a stark contrast to the 10.1-inch found on the larger Explorer. The touchscreen display will be issued as standard equipment across the Edge lineup and will be programmed with the Blue Oval’s latest Sync 4 infotainment software.

The massive screen is going to be vertically oriented and expected to showcase highly improved graphics than the old Sync 3 setup. It also includes wireless smartphone-mirroring capabilities, which means drivers can connect their devices via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto using Wi-Fi instead of a plug-in cable. Two USB ports are also added, including a USB-C port, bringing the total number of ports to four.

Aside from the infotainment screen, the 2021 Ford Edge is also getting a new wheel design, plus a couple of interior trim options such as Carbonized Gray and Lithium Gray.

Ford is yet to release the final pricing for the upcoming model, but it is likely to retain the same trim levels as the previous year—SE, SEL, Titanium, ST-Line, and ST. The ST-Line variant was added for the 2020 model year and pretty much looks like a stripped-down version of the ST variant.

The 2021 Ford Edge is expected to arrive at dealerships in the United States within the next few months.
