Ram just announced at the State Fair of Texas that it is giving the Ram 1500 a Limited Black Edition and Heavy Duty Night Edition for the next model year.
Earlier in September, the automaker revealed the 2020 Ram 1500 will have a Night Edition, which will also be available for the Ram 2500, as well as the 3500 Big Horn and Laramie. But the company is not stopping there as it recently unveiled more special editions for the bestselling truck.
The 2020 Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition gives the truck an all-black styling including the grille, grille surround, tow hooks, exhaust, badges, LED headlamps, door handles, bumpers, and side-view mirrors. Black 22-inch wheels also come as standard, as well as a bed cover and a sport performance hood.
But aside from being completely decked in black, nothing much changes for the truck. It will be powered by the same engines offered on the rest of the 1500 lineup. It will also be available in either a 4×2 or 4×4 configuration and powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine with eTorque, a 5.7-liter V8 engine, or a 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine.
The 2020 Ram 1500 Limited Edition is expected to arrive in the U.S. with a starting price of $55,385.
But for consumers who prefer more capability or space over styling, Ram is also offering the Heavy Duty Night Edition, which will also be available on the 2500 and 3500 Big Horn and Laramie.
Appearance-wise, the heavy-duty models feature a monochromatic look with contrasting black grille, black badges, and black 20-inch wheels. The 2500 and 3500 models are also getting darker headlamps and taillights like the Ram 1500 Night Edition. Additionally, Ram is making the special edition available for dually models, which will have 17-inch black wheels.
The Ram Heavy Duty Night Edition is offered on the 2500 and 3500 variants with either a 4×2 or 4×4 Crew Cab, while engine options include a 6.4-liter V8 or the 6.7-liter I-6 Cummins rated at 1,000 lb-ft of torque.
The heavy-duty models are set to go on sale in the fourth quarter starting at $39,690.
