Ahead of its official sales period in November, Lincoln introduced the newest generation of the Navigator for the 2020 model year.
The American automaker is releasing three new styling packs for the Lincoln Navigator as part of what the company sees as a move to attract loyal customers of other brands.
According to Lincoln, a huge percentage of the Navigator sales (66 percent) are from customers of other brands and that 90 percent of the clients go for the most expensive trim levels of the Navigator. Hence, the launch of an updated version of the vehicle.
But while the upgrades may not seem that big of a deal, the company thinks they are what customers want.
Described as a roomy, comfortable, and family-safe SUV, Lincoln is giving the 2020 Navigator standard equipment across all trim levels. The base models are getting power running boards, heated and ventilated front seats, and a wireless charging pad, which are also premium offerings of the more expensive trims. Also included is Lincoln’s Co-Pilot360 that packs a slew of safety features such as auto high-beam headlights, blind-spot detection, pre-collision assist, forward collision warning, and pedestrian detection among others.
The new generation will also come equipped with a Phone As A Key system that allows owners to lock and unlock the car, open the liftgate, start and drive the car even without the traditional key fob. The same system was first introduced in the 2020 Lincoln Aviator.
The 2020 Navigator will be available in three Monochromatic Packages – Pristine White, Ceramic Pearl, and Infinite Black.
In terms of mechanical upgrades, however, Lincoln has not mentioned anything so far. It looks like the Navigator will still have the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Prices for the model are expected to be announced before sales begin in November.
