This car was hurt by Ralph Nader’s book”Unsafe at Any Speed”. In this book, he was referring to the 1960-63 Corvair which had a tendency to lose control because of the design of the rear suspension. Chevrolet corrected the problem in 64 and totally redesigned the rear suspension in 65 so that it became one of the best handling and best stopping cars made in America. But sales kept sliding, to some extent because of the bad publicity, but mostly because of the Ford Mustang. The styling, however, speaks for itself.

  • Somewhere I read Chevy was going to discontinue the expensive-to-make car in '67, but extended to '69 so it didn't look like Nader had "won".
