2007 terraza passenger side rear sliding door makes loud dinging noise when closed.
when one of my grandchildren gets into the rear (second row) seat, and closes the sliding door, it sets of the alarm (a loud ding, ding, etc.) noise until the door is opened and closed several times. Is this a sensor? If so, where is it located and what is it called and how to I replace it.

Hi there,
Yes, it looks like it is a sensor issue causing the alarm. The sensor is typically located on the door latch or jamb. It detects whether the door is closed or not. Some vehicles have sensors on the seats to detect if someone is occupying the seats. If the door closes and the weight sensor does not detect someone in the seat, it might trigger an alarm. This sensor module receives signals from the door-ajar sensor and other components. If there is a discrepancy between the door status and the weight sensor information, it may trigger the alarm.
I hope this helps!
