Hi there,
Are you referring to an MAF sensor (mass air flow sensor)? The 2011 Dodge Dakota has a mass air flow sensor which is located in the intake manifold and measures the amount of air entering the engine. The ECM calculates the correct fuel-to-air ratio for optimal engine performance and emissions control. Problems such as rough idle, poor acceleration, or issues when starting, indicate a faulty mass air flow sensor. It is best to run a diagnostic and come up with a trouble code pointing to the problem part. I hope this helps.
