The term "capteur" is French for "sensor," so I’m assuming you're asking about a specific sensor on your 2001 Chevy Impala. If you’re referring to the crankshaft position sensor, it’s located on the passenger side of the engine, near the harmonic balancer at the bottom of the engine block. If it's the camshaft position sensor, you’ll find it on the front of the engine near the timing cover.
