My rear view mirror came off and I tried fixing it myself with super glue and adhesive. It didn't work. What do i do
Rear View Mirror
I was out traveling, using my friends car for the weekend, and when we came back, the rear view mirror in my car was completely off and sitting on the seat of my car. It didn't just fall off, the adhesive holding it to my window, completely melted. Looking at the weather, it had reached to over 100 degrees both the days we were gone, so I had assumed that's what caused it to fall. I was still having to drive home a few hours, so being in a rush and not close to an auto store, I purchased super glue and gorilla glue industrial adhesive. I put it on, strapped it up with tape to hold it in place and left it for about 15 hours. When taking the tape off, the entire mirror fell right back onto the floor. Now the part of the mirror that attached to the window as well as the windshield itself, are completely covered in multiple types of glue. Am I able to take it somewhere and just replace the mirror itself, or am I going to no have to replace the whole windshield because of my s****y DIY job?

Hi there,
A hairdryer can melt the dried glue that built up (for the previous fixes you did). The windshield must not be removed since it is not cracked or damaged. You can consult your trusted local auto repair shop about what type of improvised fix and heavy-duty glue to use to ensure the rearview mirror will securely hold on once they fix it since we do not have options for different kinds of automotive adhesive to use for that type of part. I hope this helps!
