Hi there,
If you are experiencing a no-start status and lack of spark in your 2000 Chevy S10 2.2L with manual transmission even after replacing the starter with a brand new one, here are possible reasons why:
1. Bad spark plugs or spark plug wires. A defective spark plug, as well as a damaged spark plug wire, can cause the issues you are experiencing.
2. Faulty ignition coils. This part provides the high voltage needed for the spark plugs. It will cause a no-spark condition if defective.
3. Faulty crankshaft position sensor. This part sends signals to the ECM about the position of the crankshaft. If bad/faulty, it will confuse the ECM and prevent spark generation.
4. Inspect engine grounds. Poor or corroded wirings for the engine grounds will cause electrical issues, including a no-start condition and a lack of spark.
I hope this helps!
