Hi there,
Frequent car washes do not cause wheel problems such as shuddering, uneven brake rotor wear, or other significant wheel issues. However, there are indirect ways an automatic car wash might contribute to these problems:
1. Some car washers use tracks to guide vehicles through the wash process. If the guide tracks are not properly aligned or maintained, they can put much stress on the wheels, causing alignment issues that lead to uneven tire wear and vibration (shuddering when braking).
2. High-pressure washers (water jets) and brushers can dislodge loose lug nuts or damage already weakened or corroded wheels. It could lead to vibrations.
3. High-pressure washers cannot directly affect suspension or steering components, but repeated exposure to high-pressure water and harsh chemicals could potentially exacerbate existing problems, such as corroded or worn-out suspension parts.
4. Check your vehicle's owner's manual for the regular maintenance procedures to be done in regular intervals so as not to overlook or miss maintenance schedules. Any problem can show up anytime you think it is caused by some recent activity you had on your vehicle.
I hope this helps!
