Here are some possible reasons behind the traction control malfunction:
1. Faulty/Dirty wheel ABS speed sensors. A bad sensor could send incorrect signals to the traction computer causing the warning signal to illuminate.
2. Damage/loose or cut wiring of the speed sensors will impede the signals to the computer causing warnings.
3. Malfunctioning ABS. Traction control relies on the ABS system. If it is faulty, like a bad ABS sensor, it will trigger the Traction control warning light.
4. Low brake fluid levels. A low brake fluid can trigger the TC and ABS warning lights. Check the brake fluid levels and make sure it is within the recommended level.
