The OBD2 code P1237 in your Thunderbird indicates a fuel pump secondary circuit malfunction. The symptoms of the engine continuing to run after ignition off, shutting off after several minutes, and a dead battery are likely related. Start by checking the fuel pump relay, inspecting wiring and connections, and testing the fuel pump. Ensure the inertia switch, as long as you have one, is not tripped. Additionally, scan for any additional trouble codes with your scanner

Hi there,
The P1237 code indicates the FPDM detected a fuel pump secondary circuit concern. The fuel pump driver modules (FPDM) controls the voltage to the fuel pump in order to maintain proper fuel pressure over the full operating range of the engine. The FPDM sends a message to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through the Fuel Pump Monitor (FPM) circuit indicating this concern was detected. A possible failing fuel pump. I hope this helps!
