I have a 2014 F-150, VIN 1FTFW1ETXEKE96678, with no power to port #31 (rear running lights).
I have a 2014 F-150, VIN 1FTFW1ETXEKE96678, with no power to port #31 on the interior BCM (rear running lights and license plate light). First, I replaced the fuse, but that was not the issue because nothing changed. Next, I disconnected the battery (Pos & Neg Terminals) for about an hour hoping it would reset the on board computer, which in turn, would restore power to the BCM. However, I reconnected the battery (after thoroughly cleaning all the connections), and started the truck. Upon activating the headlights manually, I noticed that nothing changed. I didn't even lose the radio stations programming, so I am somewhat confused where to go from here. Everything but this one port on my BCM works and I really do not want to have to take it into Ford because I am sure the BCM is not cheap and neither is their labor. Any thoughts on where I go from here? Thank you.

If you're experiencing a lack of power to port #31 (rear running lights and license plate light) on the BCM, and replacing the fuse and performing a battery reset did not resolve the issue, consider checking for wiring issues, inspecting the BCM connector, scanning for diagnostic trouble codes, and attempting a BCM reset procedure. Hope this helps!

Hi there,
The # port 31 no-power issue on the BCM is for the rear running lights and license plate light. If you have already tried a reset procedure replacing a fuse and doing a battery reset, but if the problem persist, here are other troubleshooting steps to do:
1. Inspect the wiring harness connected to port # 31 for any physical damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Check the entire length of the wiring, especially on the bend and flexing areas.
2. Check the wiring connectors of the BCM responsible for port # 31 for loose socket connectors or pushed-out pin terminals.
3. Refer to vehicle-specific service manuals or consult online forums dedicated to the Ford F150 model and year to find answers or additional details referring to port # 31 for the rear lighting and license plate.
I hope this helps!
